Pear Bread
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cup fresh pears peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease and flour a standard loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and eggs. Beat well until thoroughly combined and slightly fluffy. Stir in the chopped pears, pecans, and vanilla extract.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well mixed.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the pear mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.
- Pour the batter evenly into your prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before carefully removing it and transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
